What was the highlight of Iberostar Waves Málaga Playa
Good for a family holiday
This resort is good for families with kids aged between 3-10 years old. It has a huge pool with different depths, the sea is very close, and there is a small splash park also. Our children were rather played with us and each other, but the animators seems to be doing a good job entertaining kids. The variety of food and the quality is pretty good. The rooms are huge, you might spend more time here because the heat during the summer demands siesta time. What surprised me the most, that most of the staff, especially in the dining area is aged 50+, and they do a very-very good work, while being super nice to kids. The hotel is also a good compromise if you wish to make day trips to Malaga, Granada, Marbella, the Sierra Nevada, and even Gibraltar.
The dining area is not big enough, sometimes you have to wait 10-15 minutes to get in, and buffet tables are very crowded. Also, even though that there was a kitchen in our family suits, no mini-bar, or room service was available, so you either start to buy drinks at the souvenir shops, or awkwardly try to bring drinks with you from the dining area - both is a terrible solution. Yes, the they have water machines on every floor, but many times they were empty. The cleaning service tended to come at weird times, like 8am, or 7pm, but I suspect it was because they are overworked, any did a very good job anyway.

What was the highlight of Iberostar Waves Málaga Playa
Top quality hotel in every respect but we made the wrong choice by not researching it more.
Quality and cleanliness of building and helpfulness and friendliness of staff and excellent food.
It was too full and crowded. Sometimes a long queue to enter the restaurant and queues for buffet items sometimes and very noisy everywhere. Not suitable for an old couple like us. Wonderful for families with young children. We see it has been described as a hotel for children. But the staff did their best to see we had a good time.

Little gluten free options at dinner for my partner/ no signage to indicate options/ allergens All loungers at the pool taken with towels by 7.30am daily, no system in place to stop people taking a lounger and going out for the day which was clear was happening My little boy was disappointed that the mini disco in the evening was in the pool.....he wanted to dance. (Being very picky here)

Wonderful
Very nice hotel located just in front of the beach. Excellent food, especially the sweets. Staff very helpful and polite.
Although the hotel is practically on the beach, it does not have its own beach facilities. Umbrellas must be rented from a third party.
